The road to his first gold bracelet was not a smooth one for Dennis Ethier. He found himself three handed with two of the best stud players in the world, Chad Brown and Jennifer Harman-Traniello. While he faced fierce competition, Ethier never lost sight of the prize until the bracelet was his.
Chad Brown, who finished 2nd in a Stud event in the 2004 WSOP, repeated that feat again this year and won $89,838. Jennifer Harman-Traniello made yet another money finish in this year's WSOP. It was her highest finish to date, 3rd place, which paid $53,903.
Lance Edelman made his 2nd straight Stud Hi/Lo final table and went out in 5th place. "The Professor", Howard Lederer, finished 14th. The Canadian champion Dennis Ethier was paid $160,862 for the first place effort. This was the last Stud Hi/Lo event of the 2005 WSOP.
