Overlays at Pacific Poker
, 2005-08-21, by TwoGun
Pacific Poker has a $100k guaranteed $100+$10 tournament today, as well as a $200k guaranteed $150+$15 tournament tomorrow. The $100k tournament is scheduled to start in about three hours and only 203 players have registered for this tournament. This means that if the tournament began immedietly with this number of players, the prize pool would normally be only $20,300. However, since Pacific Poker guaranteed the prize pool would be at least $100k, Pacific would have to add $79,700 to the prize pool.
It is likely that a large number of players will enter this tournament right before it commences. However, it seems highly doubtful that much more than 700 players in total will enter this tournament it total, so it is likely that Pacific Poker will be adding at least $30k to the prize pool.
Pacific Poker is also holding a $200k guaranteed tournament tomorrow with a $150+$15 buy-in. So far, only 72 players have registered for this tournament. It is too early to tell how much money Pacific might have to add to the prize pool, but it seems likely that they will have to put up a fair share of money to match their guarantee.
