Pacific Poker IPO
, 2005-08-24, by TwoGun
Many online poker rooms have become public companies, including Empire Poker, Party Poker, and Paradise Poker. It seems that Pacific Poker is the latest online poker room that will soon be actively traded on the stock market.
Cassava, the company that owns Pacific Poker, also owns the large internet casino, 888.com. Cassava is expected to list on the London Stock Exchange with a valuation of around 700 million pounds.
Some speculate that a major reason for the major IPO is so that Cassava will have the cash to acquire Poker Stars, another major online poker room.
